Ray's 2.0

Web 1.0 was where corporations thought the internet was another dandy platform for telling us what they wanted us to know.

Web 2.0 was where we showed them that the internet is about us, not them, and that if they want to stay around, they'd better sit back, shut up, and listen.

Web 2.0, like Rock and Roll, is here to stay.

This blog will be about my thoughts on social media. With emphasis on the "social".

  1. yay, nice to know there are people in the world who get IT.
Hope to see some great posts here in the future...
... one thing closest to my heart is the problem with Web 2.0 apps in a country which only has the infrastructure to deal with Web 1!
UKplc is still trying to compete using an obsolete copper network instead of lighting the fibre that is needed to give the ubiquitous connection needed in the next generation of access.
Any posts you could do on that subject would be most appreciated! Government here in digitalbritain seems to think everyone will stop watching Iplayer and youtube in order for people to access Egov sites. They seem to think that 70 people sharing a single 2Mbps line is sufficient. Of course govt has been influenced and guided by the incumbent telco and the quango protecting it... time to rebootbritain?
